Unsung Heroes – The Medical Team

“The medical team on “Lifeline Express” has to work on the eye-train for 3 to 9 months. The medical team comprises of at least 7 persons; including 2 ophthalmologists, 1 nurse for the operating theatre, 1 nurse for the recovery room, 1 Captain for the eye-train from the Lifeline Express office, 1 technician from the Ministry of Railways and 1 cook.
Doctors who have worked on the eye-train said that the patients they treated are unsophisticated and helpless. As a doctor, it is an extraordinary experience to be able to help them. The medical team on the eye-train is often moved by the joy and happiness of the patients and their families. For them, this is an inspiration of life.“
